Based on the proven High Temperature Gas Reactor (HTGR) Technology using TRISO fuel, the new StarCore Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) uses a Static Pebble Bed core to optimize nuclear and thermal efficiency outputs.

LEVEL OF SAFETY

The HTGR Technology is the only nuclear technology recognized but the IAEA as "inherently safe". Located underground in double-walled, high strength concrete silos, the StarCore RPV is designed to optimize safety and not release radiation or ever go prompt critical.

STANDARD OF OPERATIONAL SECURITY

StarCore Operations can withstand any form of environmental, accidental, or intentional incident without repercussions. The automated operations will "fail-safe" under all circumstances.

APPLICATION OF PROVEN TECHNOLOGY

The HTGR RPV is enhanced with a three stage heat transfer process to completely separate the nuclear envelope from above ground power generation. Autonomous and load following, StarCore Operations can use the copious amounts of latent heat available to also supply potable water to the local community.

MODEL FOR AFFORDABLE POWER

StarCore Operations are designed for modular construction, which significantly lowers long term costs. StarCore Operations are built, owned, operated and decommissioned by StarCore, so the local user does not pay anything for the plant, only for power and associated heat values used for other downstream developments.
